I’m a Harrogate-based beer drinking Yorkshire lass and arts lover; writer, volunteer Editor of The Harrogate Review and Director at Drinkers’ Voice. I’ve worked in marketing, comms and events for 20 years and for my day job I’m Head of Communications at Harrogate Theatre. I’m also a full member of the British Guild of Beer Writers.
Passionate about beer and pubs, I’m a proud supporter of the industry and part of an active beer consumer world. I was a Regional Co-ordinator for #Tryanuary 2018 and I’m proudly on the First Responder team for 2019. I’m also a moderator on the UK Craft Beer Forum Facebook group (15k+ members).
I’m also founder of Women On Tap CIC – a women + beer + arts initiative designed to highlight the contribution women are making to today’s beer industry, and to fly the flag for Harrogate within the beer industry and beyond.
Women On Tap is absolutely not just for women: we exist for and work with anyone who shares what we stand for. Through our work we aim to raise the profile of women in a traditionally male-dominated industry in an attempt to redress the balance, and we welcome the conversations we spark.
Our overall mission is to actively contribute to a society where true equality exists, and have some fun along the way.
We also aim to promote Harrogate – a town we love and a serious player in terms of its beer scene.
I am also a mum, dog owner, and I run a bit – usually badly and mostly just for beer points.
I’m totally happy to review your pub or beer or event, or all three! I’m also always up for hearing new ideas for articles or collaborations or guest writers, so do get in touch.
Cheers! Let’s beer it for the girls!
